By now everyone knows that NASCAR has suspended the changer and carrier on the #29 truck team and #18 Cup team for infractions related to their pit stops. In short, tires came off the car during a race and that comes with a healthy penalty. Healthy enough for a 4 races suspension for both changer and carrier. So who will fill that void for the #18 team?

JGR does not have a developmental program in their pit department but they do carry backups. Looking at some possible choices for who might fill that void would be Adam Hartman and Anwar Parrish. Hartman is a very good changer and was picked up by JGR when MWR went under. He’s spent some time on their #20 team last year and should do a fine job filling in. Parrish is also a good talent. Anwar has been carrying tires for years now and understands what goes into being a top level carrier. The question will be how fast can these two adapt to the #18 crew and how well will they work together on such a short notice.

Filling the shoes of Jake Seminara and Kenny Barber won’t be easy. They are two of the best pit crew members out there but the #18 should be in good shape with Hartman and Parrish. Good luck those guys this weekend in Pocono.
